Our Hygienists

Once treated by our fabulous hygienists – Eleni and Mandi, your mouth and gums will feel fresh and healthy!  The primary focus of their role at Banff Dental Care is to provide professional teeth cleaning, gum therapy, oral health education and to work in conjunction with Dr Martin.

Seeing our hygienists on a regular basis is crucial to your oral health.

Eleni – Registered Dental Hygienist

Eleni has been working with us at Banff Dental Care since 2007.  Originally from Hamilton, Ontario, she moved to the Bow Valley in 2005 due to her love of the outdoors.

Graduating from The Canadian Institute of Dental Hygiene in 2005, Eleni has been working in the dental hygiene field for 6 years.

Staying current in dental hygiene treatments and procedures is very important to Eleni, as she values giving her patients the most current treatments and advice available.  Laser hygiene therapy, local anesthetic, and severe periodontal disease maintenance are among her extended skills and areas of expertise.

Eleni loves being a Hygienist as it allows her to make a real difference in the health and overall confidence of her patients.  “Hearing someone say that they have been smiling more now than they have in years is very rewarding.”

Her relationships with her patients are a testament to Eleni’s belief that having a genuine concern for each individual is what makes a good hygienist.

Eleni can be regularly seen biking, hiking and running around Banff and the Bow Valley.

Mandi – Registered Dental Hygienist

Mandi is a graduate from the Dental Hygiene School at Oxford College and is originally from Humboldt, Saskatchewan.  She has been living in Banff for around 5 years and has been working in the dental field for 6 years.

Prior to being a Hygienist, Mandi was a Dental Assistant and graduated with honors from both her Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene schools.  “Being in the dental field as a dental assistant, I realized how much I enjoyed this work and wanted to further pursue my interest area of dental hygiene.”  In 2009, she received the Professional Award from Dentsply Canada and is a member of the Canadian Registered Dental Hygiene Association.

Since graduating she has attended many professional development courses in addition to being certified to administer and treat patients with laser therapy and local anesthetic.

Her favorite parts of her job are building a strong relationship with her patients and teaching them about oral health.  Mandi believes that passion, understanding and the ability to communicate and education patients is what makes a good hygienist. “Dental hygiene is a very rewarding job and something I am very passionate about.”

Mandi also loves the outdoors and is an avid snowboarder in the winter and often goes hiking and camping in the summer.
